Ghazal:

This ghazal, “कांच के टुकड़े,” reflects sorrow and vulnerability attributed to Karuna Ras, evoking melancholy. It explores the relationship between sorrow and hope in a poignant way.

This ghazal , कांच के टुकड़े, is a manifestation of the emotion of sorrow and vulnerability. In the Navras, this theme is attributed to Karuna Ras that evokes a sense of melancholy.

The emotion of sorrow has an intricate relationship with hope. When a hope is fulfilled, it alleviates the sorrow and in contrast, when the hope starts to fade, the sorrow becomes deeper.

I wish we continue to hope and channelize the intensity of our emotions into powerful drivers for our actions, as actions are the best companions in our journey to propel ourselves ahead.

Here it goes, ghazal :

Ghazal:

Here it goes, Kavita:

Karuna Rasa Kavita:

This poetry titled “Karuna Rasa Kavita मुकाम,” delves into the theme of Karuna Rasa, one of the nine emotions represented in Natya Shastra. It captures reflections on life and embraces the value of moments amidst sadness.

This Karuna Rasa Kavita, मुकाम, is the first post on my website tagged to this theme. As I delve deeper into the world of poetry, I now feel more confident about tagging my work to specific and clear themes.

Navras

Overall, as you might know, Rasa’s represent the nine emotions (Navras) described in Natya Shastra. Altogether, these rasas represent a multitude of emotions ranging from love, anger, hate, friendship, disgust, sadness, peace, fear, wonder etc. Similarly, Karuna Rasa is one among those and is associated with sadness or melancholy. Some posts on other Navras elements are below for reference.

Check out Veer Rasa poetry here and Shringara Rasa poetry here

This poetry below captures the reflections of someone who has seen it all and looks back at the events of their life with a touch of sadness or incompleteness. It’s hard to accept that most of us go express this emotion at various times, sometimes for a large period of time.

Karuna Rasa is a contrasting emotion which accentuates the value of happy moments in our lives and the only wise option is to embrace it while stopping our futile attempts to escape this emotion.

This one is for all us, more so for those among us who feel lonely and don’t have their loved ones around to share their emotions. Hope you enjoy reading this!

Here it goes, Karuna Rasa Kavita:

Veer Rasa Poetry:

This is a veer rasa (courage) poetry is about bravery, challenging norms, and celebrating individuality. It emphasizes the importance of courage in the face of adversity and societal conformity.

This Veer Rasa Poetry, सितारों से पूछो, is the first post on my website tagged to this theme. As I delve deeper into the world of poetry, I now feel more confident about tagging my work to specific and clear themes.

Navras

Overall, as you might know, Rasa’s respresent the nine emotions (Navras) described in Natya Shastra. Altogether, these rasas represent a multitude of emotions ranging from love, anger, hate, friendship, disgust, peace, fear, wonder etc. Similarly, Veer Rasa is one among those and represents the sentiment of courage, heroism or bravery.

This poetry below is an expression of courage, a salute to people who thrive despite challenges and barriers and never give up. It also celebrates the courage to be different from the society that appreciates conformity. New thoughts will never be allowed to flourish and gain acceptance if not for some among us to challenge with intent and keep persisting!

It’s unlikely that someone is courageous by default. At times, this niche virtue is instilled by the environment and at other times, it is nurtured in the company of courageous people.

Given that courage is misunderstood often, I always remember a quote I once read:

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak, Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen!

Hope you enjoy reading this!

Here it goes: Veer Rasa Poetry,

Shringara Ras Kavita:

In this Shringara Ras Kavita a lover express his temptation for their lover and desires and yearns for the opportunity to be with them.

This Shringara Ras Kavita, वफा में बेवफाई के रंग, is dedicated to all the lovers who yearn for their lover and desire to be with them. In the kavita below, the lover is expressing his temptation and is challenging his lover to move beyond the traditional boundaries by using peculiar contrasts as subtle challenges to change the way of thinking.

I hope this Shringara Ras Kavita finds you in the moment when you yearn to be close to your beloved and need to poetically express your feelings.

Here it goes: Shringara Ras Kavita,

Shayari on Competition:

This shayari on Competition, मुक़ाबला, captures the audacity of challengers trying to match up while benefiting from your support. Explore more Hindi poetry and ghazals at The Versatilist.

This shayari on Competition, मुक़ाबला, is a response to all challengers. The ones who think they have chance to compete with while being innocently oblivious to the vagueness and frailty of their challenge.

Think of the time when you met someone who was trying hard to compete with you. And you felt astonished at the audacity of them trying to match up while getting fed from your hand at the same time! Yes, they exist around us.

Hope these couplets below capture those emotions for you and a fitting response that such situation warrants. I especially like the last sher for it has reference to the literary world.

Here it goes, shayari on Competition,

Ghazal for Women:

This ghazal, तूँ क्यों सहती है, celebrates women’s resilience and acknowledges their struggles. It advocates for ending abuse and fostering a brighter future.

This ghazal for women, तूँ क्यों सहती है, is dedicated to all the women! Women are so wonderful, soothing, forgiving and can make any place vibe with their limitless energy. My life has been shaped by so many nurturing women around me; my mother, wife, sisters, friends, extended family and at work as well!

The fact is that our lives (men) are so incomplete and colorless without women, yet so many women have to go through abuse in their relationships, both mental and physical. While majority of the abuse comes from men, unfortunately and surprisingly enough, at times some women are the perpetrators.

This ghazal is dedicated to all the women who have suffered abuse at any point in their life. Undoubtedly, it’s not easy to just walk out of abusive relationships due to often compelling circumstances. However, I hope the next generations will do a better job of differentiating between right and wrong than the current ones.

Here it goes: ghazal for women,

This inspirational poetry, ठहरता क्यों है, is a reminder to keep hoping and believing in yourself. There are days when the best of us feel let down, at times by circumstances and at other times, by the people around us. I have felt this too, when negative thoughts cluttered and clouded the the bright sky of my mind.

I hope the lines below find you at a time when you most need it. All good things have their foundation in sincerely cultivated effort and disciplined persistence. I have benefited from these principles while building this website and its progress has further strengthened my belief in these tenets.

I wish that while you are building something that matters to you, this inspirational poetry below gives you a bit of inspiration to continue, and never stop!

Here it goes, Inspirational Poetry:

Poetry on Life: तस्वीर पुरानी

This poetry on life, तस्वीर पुरानी, is a crafty take on life which will resonate with you and make you reflect on the years gone by!

This poetry on life, तस्वीर पुरानी, is a reflection on the crafty ways of Life. In a rather unassuming style, it sneakily camouflages itself into the passing years and passes by without even getting noticed. It’s only the vagaries of time that arm twist it to lend itself to our conscious memory. Primarily, when we look at some memories in pictures or relive some moments with our families and friends and wonder – “Those were the good days’ or “I just realized how quickly the time has gone by”.

I hope this poetry encourages you to take a conscious stop right now and reflect on how quickly the years are piling themselves upon each other while the ‘Life’ conveniently hides behind that pile. Perhaps it’s time to remove the pile and push the life out of its comfort zone.

Have you ever experienced these thoughts when you re-live memories of the years or rather ‘life’ gone by? Hopefully this poetry will bring back some cheerful memories to you!

Here it goes: Poetry on Life, तस्वीर पुरानी

Hindi Poetry:

This hindi poetry चेहरा is a dedicated to all those who remembered someone they miss by looking at someone else

This hindi poetry चेहरा is a dedicated to all those who remembered someone they miss by looking at someone else. We try to project the faces onto others, or sometimes strangers remind us of the people whom we miss or care for. We wish that our dear ones just appear in front of us. I find myself doing this often! I keep hoping and looking for people who I wish were around me.

Have you ever experienced this? Hopefully this poetry will bring back those faces to you!

Here it goes: Hindi Poetry,
