This poetry on life, तस्वीर पुरानी, is a reflection on the crafty ways of Life. In a rather unassuming style, it sneakily camouflages itself into the passing years and passes by without even getting noticed. It’s only the vagaries of time that arm twist it to lend itself to our conscious memory. Primarily, when we look at some memories in pictures or relive some moments with our families and friends and wonder – “Those were the good days’ or “I just realized how quickly the time has gone by”.

तस्वीर पुरानी बीती यादें ताज़ा कर गयी
चंद लम्हों की ज़िन्दगी काफी तेज़ निकल गयी
आख़िरकार समझ गए हैं तुझे लगा जब भी
ऐ ज़िन्दगी तेरी करवट फिर बदल गयी
सोचा बहुत किसी के काम आ जाएँ कभी
कोशिश करने की हाथों से मौहलत फिसल गयी
बामुश्किल पहुंचे थे मंज़िल के करीब हम
तेज़ आँधी आयी और हमारी हिम्मत पिघल गयी
गुज़रे हैं तेरी राहों से जैसे तैसे ज़िन्दगी
फिर भी फिर से जीने को हमारी नियत मचल गयी
