(Emotions like Sand)

This hindi shayari is about how we make futile attempts to feel in control of our emotions, like sand wishing to get away from the desert.

Hindi Shayari

This hindi shayari is inspired by the stand up poetry show that I attended yesterday. Stand up poetry is a unique concept and follows the lead of stand up comedy shows which have gained popularity in the last 3 to 5 years. Helly Shah, the performer and poet in yesterday’s event, craftily embedded her poetry in a story telling style which was very engaging. Inspired by her poetic story telling style, I have crafted a few lines below which are different from the usual writing style of ‘shers’ or ‘nazms’ which are couplets. This piece is free flowing in style but yet retains the usual flavor of simplicity and easy to read language.

This hindi shayari is about how we make futile attempts to feel in control of our emotions, like sand wishing to get away from the desert.

While reading, try to say it out as you read with pauses as per the structure below, hopefully it will resonate with you.

Here it goes: Hindi Shayari, (Emotions like Sand)
