Hindi Kavita ‘Hum Dost Hua Karte The’ by The Versatilist is inspired by the politics around us which has created differences among friends.

This hindi Kavita on politics is inspired by my experiences where I see close friends become distant due to their differing views on politics and politicians. I see people trying to make the other individual align to their views and are quick and happy to label them as someone who isn’t one of them.

This situation is new and it has come to the fore in the recent years. I hope people are reasonable with each other and learn to appreciate the differing views!

किस पक्ष में हो तुम, वो पूछता ये सवाल है
निष्पक्ष कहो खुद को, फिर भी उठता ये बवाल है

लेबल ले कर घूम रहा है, लगाने को तैयार है
हाँ में हाँ मिलाओ तो दोस्त, वरना दुश्मन बनाने को तैयार है

देश सभी का है, फर्क तो सभी को पड़ता है
सोचने का एक ही तरीका है सही, ये कह कर मुझसे लड़ता है

कभी दोस्त हुआ करता था, आज नफरत का शिकार है
किसी और को क्या दोष दूँ, कौन भला ज़िम्मेदार है

साल, मौसम, महीने बदलना लाज़मी है
आसमान जो छू रहा आज, अगला, ठिकाना उसका ज़मीन है

सियासत के रंग भी बदलेंगे, इतिहास गवाह है
क्या हम तुम ज़िंदा रहेंगे मगर, मुझे देखने की चाह है
